All six accused were found guilty of conspiracy, cheating, and forgery for evading customs duty under the Duty Entitlement Pass Book (DEPB) scheme. The Court has sentenced Snehalata Samdarshi Jaiswal to undergo three years rigorous imprisonment with a fine of Rs 3.80 crore, Ramesh Suraj Bax Singh, Kiran Narhari Cheulkar, Pradeep Babulal Sanghavi to undergo two years rigorous imprisonment with a fine of Rs 4.50 lakh, and Suresh Kumar Jain to undergo one-year rigorous imprisonment with fine of Rs 3 lakh. A fine of Rs 3 lakh was also imposed on accused firm KMP Syntex Pvt. Ltd upon conviction.
As per the Bill, those involved in unlawful conversions on the pretext of marriage will be punished with imprisonment of seven years and shall also be liable for a fine of Rs 1 lakh. Violations in respect of a minor, a person of unsound mind, a woman or a person belonging to the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe will be punished with imprisonment of seven years and a fine of Rs 5 lakh.
