An adult tiger was reportedly found dead near Kazhudhakatti odai in the Amaravathy forest range in Tiruppur district on the evening of Monday, October 23, 2023, by a beat patrolling team.
The carcass was found about five km deep in the reserve forest. There was no sign of a bullet, injury or bleeding. The tiger was estimated to be eight to nine years old, according to a preliminary report.
The Forest Department has made arrangements to conduct a post-mortem as per the Standing Operating Procedures (SOP) specified by the National Tiger Conservation Authority, official sources said.
