Admitting Tu Yaa Main has had a slow start, actor Adarsh Gourav on Tuesday urged audiences to watch the film in theatres. He also stressed the need to support smaller commercial films.
Actor Adarsh Gourav has called on audiences to watch his latest film, Tu Yaa Main, in theatres. In his latest post, the 31-year-old emphasised the value of supporting smaller commercial films. The film, which was released on February 13, stars Shanaya Kapoor alongside Gourav.
He highlighted how audience presence can influence the future of innovative filmmaking and offer new opportunities to writers and directors.
In his Instagram post, Gourav wrote, "It’s important that people show up in bigger numbers and watch smaller commercial films like ours too because it gives a real chance to other writers and directors to develop films that are clutter-breaking. It encourages producers to back films that are trying to do anything unique (sic)."
Speaking about the film's box office performance, the actor continued, "Plus, this one is tailor-made for a big-screen experience. We are off to a slow start, but we’ve been feeling all the love coming our way. If you liked the film- pls tell your friends about it and watch us all get destroyed by an 18 foot Crocodile (sic)."
Reflecting on his connection with the script, Gourav shared, "Tu Yaa Main came at a time to me where I was feeling confused and helpless, reading everything that was being developed. But when I walked out of @abzeebandekar insane narration at the colour yellow office, I knew I had to be Maruti (sic)."
Elaborating on his portrayal of Maruti, Gourav described what drew him to the character. "What was it about him that felt so personal to me? Maybe his desire to break out and find an identity. Something infectious about a character who knows where he’s coming from and does not shy away from it."
