Malayalam and Tamil film actor Swasika safely returned to Kochi after being briefly stranded at Dubai airport, which was closed due to heightened conflict in the Middle East. The closure disrupted travel plans for many, including Swasika, as tensions escalated after military strikes in the region. She arrived in Kerala early on Wednesday (March 4), reassuring well-wishers about her safety.
The closure of Dubai airport resulted from the broader conflict between the United States and Israeli strikes on Iran, leading to further military responses. The disruptions left many passengers waiting for updates on their return to their home countries amidst ongoing tensions.
Swasika shared her experience with the media after landing at Cochin International Airport. She explained that while there was some concern, panic was not widespread among travellers. She said that there was no "heavy panic situation," but admitted that being in another country during such a time can make anyone feel anxious.

She had originally been scheduled to return to India on February 28. Describing the airport environment after the shutdown, Swasika said, "I was supposed to come on February 28. Everything was under control," reflecting the mix of uncertainty and calm at the time.
In a note posted upon her return, Swasika wrote, "Back home. Thank you all for your prayers and wishes. It was very tough to be in the situation that we all were. Truly God's blessing to safe! It started when I was at the airport on the 28th(Sunday). By 1pm, the airport was closed, chaos all around as none of us knew what happened. Then the news started coming of the missile attack and no one knew what the next minute held for us. Strangers consoling each other, all calling their families back home."
