AAP cries vendetta politics after ED arrests Satyendar Jain in money laundering case
India Today
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has alleged vendetta politics following the arrest of Delhi minister Satyendar Jain, ahead of elections in Himachal Pradesh.
Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in a money laundering case on Monday, May 30. Investigations by the financial probe agency have revealed that in 2015-2016, when Jain was a public servant, companies owned and controlled by him received up to Rs 4.81 crore from shell companies through a Hawala network.
Reacting to the arrest, Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia alleged that Jain was arrested as the BJP was afraid of losing the Himachal Pradesh elections. Jain is the Himachal in-charge of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). AAP MLA Ajay Dutt also echoed the same sentiment.

The move follows internal challenges faced by both leaders. Ramadoss, founder of the Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK), has been at odds with his son Anbumani Ramadoss over control of the party. Despite being the founder, he has been unable to legally reclaim the party symbol or leadership post. Sasikala, a close aide of former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, has also struggled to regain influence within the AIADMK.
