Aadhaar card mandatory to buy Covid self-testing kits, says Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar

Amid the Omicron scare, Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar said that people purchasing Covid-19 self-testing kits will have to provide their Aadhaar cards to the chemists to maintain a record.

Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar said that people purchasing Covid-19 self-testing kits will have to provide their Aadhaar cards to the chemists to maintain a record, reported news agency ANI.

Kishori Pednekar was quoted by ANI as saying, "We have decided that everyone purchasing self-kits will have to provide their Aadhaar cards to the chemists to maintain a record. If anyone tests positive for Covid-19, the information must be conveyed to the authorities and must be updated online.(sic)"
