The 9-year-old boy named Emanuel Marques Oliveira sneaked out of his home in Manaus in northwestern Brazil on Saturday morning.
Nowadays, children have become more tech-savvy than adults and also know all the how-tos of using the internet to gain knowledge on certain subjects. Do you remember how a 2-year-old boy from New Jersey ordered furniture worth Rs 1.5 lakh online? Well, now, in a rather bizarre incident, a 9-year-old Brazilian boy managed to travel almost 3000 kilometres alone. And that, too, without an airline ticket.
The 9-year-old boy named Emanuel Marques Oliveira sneaked out of his home in Manaus in northwestern Brazil on Saturday morning. His mother, Daniele Marques, informed that she had seen Emanuel in his bed when she woke up early that morning. However, the boy went missing two hours after that. “I woke up at 5.30 AM and went to his room and saw that he was sleeping normally,” Daniele told Newsflash. “Then I fiddled with my mobile phone a little and got up again, at 7.30 AM, and that is when I realised that he was no longer in his bedroom and I started to panic,” she added.
The young globetrotter had actually boarded a Latam flight to Guarulhos, a city in the southeast state of Sao Paulo. He travelled 2,700 kilometres from his home and sneaked onto the flight without even buying a ticket. Yes, you read that right. According to local media reports, the young boy had Googled about ways to get on a flight without a ticket and go unnoticed.
After learning about her son’s whereabouts, the disturbed mother heaved a sigh of relief. Manaus airport management has launched an investigation into the whole matter to find out about how the boy was able to board without any travel documents or luggage.
Local police have also launched an investigation and have requested security camera footage from the airport. According to the police, there is no history of violence in the family and the young traveler simply wanted to meet his family members in Sao Paulo.
