The Collegium has met at least seven times between September 1 and September 29, during which 79 new names have been recommended for appointment as permanent judges of High Courts.
The primary focus of the Supreme Court Collegium in September has been appointment of judges to multiple High Courts. The month has ended, with the Collegium having met at least seven times between September 1 and September 29, during which names of 38 advocates, 26 judicial officers and 15 additional judges have been recommended for appointment as permanent judges of High Courts.
The Collegium has also reiterated its previous recommendations to appoint nine advocates as High Court judges and transfer six judges to new High Courts. New transfers have also been recommended, with 18 judges and 5 Chief Justices being recommended for transfer or re-transfer.
