Seven people died in a major fire that broke out at a building in Madhya Pradesh's Indore district in the wee hours of Saturday.
Seven people died after a major fire broke out at a two-storey building in Swarn Bagh colony in Madhya Pradesh's Indore district in the wee hours of Saturday.
Fire department officials said an initial investigation revealed there was a short circuit in the electric meter, following which, vehicles parked nearby caught fire. The blaze then spread to the building.
Police and fire fighters reached the spot soon after receiving the information. The blaze was doused after three hours of fire fighting operations.
Officers recovered five bodies and rescued five injured people from the building. Those injured were rushed to hospital for treatment.
Two more died at the hospital, pushing the toll to seven.
The identity of the deceased is yet to be identified.

He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
