A five-year-old student at a private school in Noida was allegedly left locked inside a school bus for nearly seven hours after falling asleep during the morning commute, triggering outrage among parents.
According to the family, the child boarded the school bus on Thursday morning but fell asleep on the rear seat.
When the bus reached the school, other children got down, but the staff allegedly failed to check the vehicle before parking it in a bus yard about 25 km away.
The child reportedly remained inside the parked bus, crying for help.
The incident came to light around noon when the mother arrived to pick up her child and was told he had been marked absent in school.
However, transport records showed he had boarded the bus, prompting panic and a frantic search by the family and school authorities.

India on Monday said it has not held bilateral talks with the United States on deploying naval vessels to secure merchant shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. The clarification came after US President Donald Trump urged countries to send warships to keep the strategic waterway open amid tensions with Iran.
