
4 arrested in Kolkata for impersonating metro officials, defrauding job aspirants

The cyber cell unit of Kolkata police has arrested four people for impersonating metro officials and defrauding people with offers of job in Kolkata metro railway.
The Kolkata police has arrested four people for impersonating metro police officers and duping several people in the name of getting jobs in Kolkata Metro Railway In February, Protyush Ghosh, secretary to the General Manager of Metro Railway, had received a complaint that some unknown persons were defrauding job aspirants by giving them false assurances of a lucrative job in metro railway. The accused also had fake e-mail ID addresses and were using several mobile numbers to cheat people.
A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.

According to the police, 19-year-old Sachin Dharmendrabhai Chaudhary, who works as a labourer, had borrowed the money before expressing his inability to repay it immediately, police said. He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
