The incident, which unfolded at a school in Madhya Pradesh, has now shifted from a fee dispute to a question of accountability. For the 23 students affected, the Board's decision will determine whether they can continue their academic year without disruption.
A case of alleged negligence by a private school has surfaced in Khargone district of Madhya Pradesh, leaving 23 students uncertain about their academic year. Shri Gayatri Vidyapeeth Higher Secondary School in Bhikangaon completed examination forms for Class 10 and 12 students but failed to deposit the required fees with the state Board of Secondary Education within the deadline.
As a result, 10 students of Class 12 were unable to appear for their first English board examination. The issue came to light just before the exam, triggering protests by parents outside the school premises.
Hundreds gathered and blocked a nearby highway, demanding accountability from the management. The protest continued late into the night.
Students say they were informed about the fee issue only a day before the examination. Piyush Dilaware, a Class 12 student, said he had been preparing for both the board exams and the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE).
Missing the English paper, he said, could affect his entire academic year. “If I do not get another opportunity, my year will be wasted,” he said.
Uzma Khan, another Class 12 student preparing for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET), said she had worked hard throughout the year. She appealed to the Board to allow affected students to appear in the remaining examinations.
