A Class 12 student in Tamil Nadu's Kallakurichi died by suicide after alleged torture by teachers. The cause of death as mentioned in the first autopsy was multiple injuries and haemorrhage.
Violence broke out in Salem district of Tamil Nadu after the Class 12 student jumped off her hostel building on July 13. She was allegedly tortured by a teacher.
On Monday, the chemistry teacher of the school, Haripriya, and the mathematics teacher, Kritika, were arrested. Earlier, three management officials of the school, including the Principal and the secretary, were arrested.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
