The authorities have shut down two schools and a college in Surat for the safety of citizens after 20 students test positive for Covid-19.
Two primary schools and a college in Surat, Gujarat, have been shut for two weeks after 20 students tested positive for Covid-19. The decision was taken for the safety of students and staff. The educational institutes in Surat were reopened in February this year after being shut for 11 months due to the Covid-19 pandemic and since then, 118 students and teachers in the city have tested positive for the viral infection, officials stated. Besides, six students of one primary school and four of another school also tested positive for the infection on Saturday, following which both the educational institutions were also asked to remain closed for 14 days, he said.
