2 Kinngait, Nunavut, fishermen found dead after search
CBC
RCMP in Kinngait say two fishermen reported missing on New Year's Eve have been found dead.
Police received a call early Dec. 31 that a father, 70, and son, 38, had not returned home after going to check their nets at a spot 15 kilometres from the community.
Bad weather delayed a ground search, but police said searchers eventually found the men's snowmobile approximately 11 kilometres from Kinngait, but there was no sign of the men.
On Jan. 2, searchers found the bodies of the two men at a spot five kilometres from the community.
Police did not release the names of the two men. They also did not provide any information about how the men died.
RCMP said there's no criminality suspected, so they will end their investigation. The Nunavut Coroner's Service is now looking into the case.

Publicly funded home-care providers in Nova Scotia will all move to the same software platform and be linked to the provincial health authority by 2027, a move the province’s seniors and long-term care minister says will result in better service for clients and their families and improved working conditions for people in the sector.
