Two candidates with the same name claimed the same rank in the civil service examination results 2025 after a roll number confusion surfaced online. Questions arose when both shared admit cards carrying the number 0856794.
The civil service examination results 2025 released on Friday have sparked an unusual controversy after two candidates claimed the same rank. Both women, named Akanksha Singh, said they had secured rank 301, triggering confusion and widespread discussion online.
Soon after the list became public, a woman from Bihar came forward claiming that she had achieved the rank. Her claim quickly gained attention in media circles.
However, the situation took a surprising turn when another candidate with the same name also claimed the same position in the merit list. This second Akanksha Singh is based in Delhi but originally belongs to Ghazipur district in Uttar Pradesh.
The case became more puzzling because both candidates reportedly possessed admit cards carrying the same roll number, 0856794.
According to information circulating around the claims, Akanksha Singh from Bihar had presented an admit card that displayed the roll number 0856794. However, questions arose when the barcode on her admit card reportedly showed a different number — 0856569.
On the other hand, Akanksha Singh from Delhi shared an admit card in which both the roll number and the barcode number matched and read 0856794.
