The data guru declared that there's "no way on God's green earth" that the GOP retains the House majority if such numbers hold until the midterms.
CNN’s chief data analyst Harry Enten said Tuesday that young men, a demographic that provided a key boost to Donald Trump’s 2024 election win, have “very much soured” on the president since his return to office.
“Whoa! Yikes, yikes, yikes, yikes!” Enten exclaimed while looking at Trump’s polling performance with the group.
While analyzing a data aggregate that looped in numbers from Marist College and Quinnipiac University, Enten noted that Trump has an average net approval rating (percentage of voters who approve of his performance minus percentage who disapprove) of -19 points among men under age 45.
Trump, he noted, performed better with the group (+5 points) than former Vice President Kamala Harris in November 2024.
Enten suggested that Trump is losing the backing of men who turned to the Republican Party between the 2020 and 2024 elections.
