Rep. Elise Stefanik encountered some unhappy constituents at an event in her district.
Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.) appeared before some of her constituents on Monday, and they didn’t waste the chance to let her know how they really feel.
While attempting to speak at an event honoring late county clerk John Zurlo, Stefanik was met with jeers, chants, boos and signs telling her to “go home” and calling her a “bully.”
Stefanik later griped on social media that the protesters were “radical Far Left Democrat agitators who disgracefully attempted to drown out and silence a non-political event.”
However, several of the protesters told local media that Stefanik refuses to hold town hall events, making this one of the few chances they’ve had to make their feelings known.
“She won’t hold a town hall, she won’t take questions, she’s never at her office,” protester Mavis Agnew told NBC5. “So this was her first appearance, the first opportunity we had to let her know we’re unhappy.”
