
Grotesque Fallas Festival Effigies Give Donald Trump Yet Another Reason To Hate Spain

Several of this year’s creations have depicted the president in unflattering, grotesque ways, alongside Vladimir Putin and Benjamin Netanyahu.
Donald Trump isn’t likely planning a trip to Spain any time soon, given his current contempt for its government’s opposition to his Iran war and refusal to up its defense spending to NATO’s 5% target.
But if Trump does decide to hop across the Atlantic for paella and/or tapas, he might want to avoid the eastern, Mediterranean city of Valencia right now.
The president is among the political figures currently being mocked at the city’s famous Fallas festival, where giant satirical papier-mâché sculptures — known as ninots — are displayed across the streets before being dramatically burned on Thursday.
Several of this year’s creations have depicted Trump in unflattering, grotesque ways, alongside Russian President Vladimir Putin and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
