Yamuna Authority runs bulldozer over illegal properties near UP's Aligarh

Yamuna Authority launched a demolition drive against illegal construction on land worth Rs 213 crore in several areas near Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh.
Taking stern action, the Yamuna Authority has run bulldozers on the illegally occupied properties where colonies were cut under the name of Jewar Airport in the Khair Tehsil of Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh.
Since the foundation stone of the Jewar airport was laid, illegal colonies are being cut continuously in its surrounding areas, in which construction work is being done indiscriminately. In order to take action against such activities, the Yamuna Authority cleared land in the Doripur, Khandeha and Simrothi areas of the Aligarh district.
The construction which was being done illegally was demolished.
Arun Veer Singh, CEO of Yamuna Authority, said that illegal construction work was being done in the areas of Doripur, Khandeha and Simrothi of Aligarh. The authority has cleared about 27 hectares of land, which costs around Rs 213 crore.
