
Woke up to panic-stricken calls from back home, says Ukraine's ambassador to India

We are giving maximum support to Ukraine in terms of isolating Russia, says the EU Ambassador.
Ukraine's Ambassador to India, Igor Polikha, reacted strongly against the Russian siege on Ukraine.
"I woke up to panic-stricken calls from my home in Ukraine. A residential area, 400 metres from my house, was hit. Some kindergartens and orphanages are also hit. Yesterday, an oncological centre was hit by the Russians. Absolutely 'peaceful' operation!" said the Ambassador in New Delhi on Saturday.
Meanwhile, many representatives from various embassies, including Latvia, Sweden and the European Union, visited the Ukraine embassy on Saturday in New Delhi.

The representatives paid respects to the victims of Russian aggression, outside the Ukrainian embassy.
Ugo Astuto, EU Ambassador to India, said, "We stand by Ukraine against this unjustified and unprovoked aggression. Yesterday, the European Council agreed to another package of sanctions to isolate Russia economically and politically... We will continue to support Ukraine in this dark hour. The international community must come together in defence of international law."
On Friday, EU states agreed to freeze any European assets of Russian President Vladimir Putin and his foreign minister as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy pleaded for faster and more forceful sanctions to punish Russia's invasion of his country.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.

India's original Dhurandhar, Ravindra Kaushik, rose from acting at college theatres, to infiltrating the Pakistan Army as a RAW Agent. He provided critical intelligence on Pakistani troop movements and the country's nuclear programme, but died a lonely death after his betrayal and subsequent capture by the ISI.
