• “Quad God” leads men’s skating: After the men’s short program, it’s Ilia Malinin who leads the event after a stunning performance – one which included many of his trademark quad jumps and a backflip – that put him well in the lead over his competitors. The free skate portion of the event takes place Friday. • Defying IOC: Ukrainian skeleton racer Vladyslav Heraskevych told CNN he will wear his helmet featuring images of athletes killed during the war in Ukraine despite IOC guidelines banning the headgear. • Eight golds up for grabs: We’ve got eight medal events today, including women’s moguls, men’s speed skating and luge.
