Why would any oppn leader accept Nitish as PM when everyone 'eligible' for post?: RCP Singh

Talking exclusively to India Today, former Union Minister RCP Singh said that opposition leaders will not accept him as a PM because every leader in the Opposition is a PM face.

Former Union Minister RCP Singh has hit out at Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar over his PM aspirations and questioned why would any leader from the opposition accept him as the PM face?

RCP Singh, speaking exclusively to India Today, said, "Has he ever done anything for other states? Has he shared good relations with any opposition leader? He has no support base on the ground. So why would any opposition leader support him for PM? Already all the opposition leaders are prime minister faces in their own terms," he said.

Singh also raised questions over Nitish Kumar’s visit to Delhi to unite the opposition forces against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

RCP Singh said "The people of Bihar did not give a mandate to Nitish Kumar to go to Delhi and unite the opposition but to work for the people of the state. Nitish is not interested in doing any work in Bihar and therefore, he has gone to pass his time in Delhi."

RCP took potshots at Nitish Kumar's recent meeting with Telangana CM Chandrasekhar Rao in Patna and said that both leaders were doing "uthak-baithak" on the stage during the news conference.

RCP Singh however dodged question regarding possibilities of him joining BJP soon. He said he would talk to his party workers and then take a decision in this regard.
