Why Carolyn Bessette Kennedy’s Signature Headband Causes Headaches
HuffPost
The ’90s hair accessory is having a resurgence thanks to “Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette.” But doctors have a warning.
People are buzzing about Carolyn Bessette Kennedy’s effortless, clean and perfectly ’90s style ― thanks to Ryan Murphy’s hit FX miniseries, “Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette.”
Long before “quiet luxury” became a 2020s aspiration, Bessette Kennedy built a signature look around neutrals, impeccable tailoring and barely-there makeup. She topped off the minimalist vision with just a handful of carefully chosen accessories ― like sleek sunglasses and, of course, her go-to headband.
Frequently photographed wearing it around New York City, Bessette Kennedy’s simple, stiff headband became one of her recognizable trademarks.
Now that headband ― a tortoiseshell style she reportedly purchased from C.O. Bigelow in Greenwich Village ― is having a resurgence of its own, with fans eager to recreate the ’90s aesthetic.
There’s just one problem: It’s not exactly comfortable.
