The Supreme Court asked the petitioner why state assemblies can't have opinion on laws passed by the Centre.
The Supreme Court on Friday questioned a petitioner filing a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) if state legislative assemblies have "limited freedom of opinion" on central laws. The petition was filed to challenge resolutions passed by several state assemblies condemning the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) passed by Parliament. Hearing the matter, a bench headed by Chief Justice of India SA Bobde asked whether there could be an argument that state legislatures have a "limited freedom of opinion".More Related News
