Three subdivisions of interior Maharashtra have been put on an 'orange' alert by the India Meteorological Department(IMD). On the other hand, heavy rainfall is expected to lash Bihar for the next few days.
Even though the monsoon has subdued over most parts of the country with 33 per cent deficiency in rainfall, heavy rainfall has been predicted for Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana and northeastern states. Water level of the river Ganga has reduced now but its impact can still be seen in nearby areas. I'm closely monitoring the situation. However, the weather department stated that the fresh bout of rain is expected to be brief and is less likely to impact the region with floods and rain-related incidents.
A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
