
Weather office predicts heavy rainfall from Kashmir to Arunachal, alert issued in Shimla

The India Meteorology Department has predicted heavy rainfall and thunderstorms from parts of Kashmir to Arunachal Pradesh. Also, a yellow alert has been issued in Shimla.
Several parts of the country, including Jammu and Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat and Karnataka have been witnessing heavy rainfall, flash floods and overflowing rivers for the last few days.
The India Meteorology Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rainfall and thunderstorms in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura during the next 4 days. Apart from this, heavy rain is likely to occur at different places in Jammu and Kashmir on September 4.

In a Twitter post, IMD warned, “Isolated heavy falls and thunderstorm/lightning very likely over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura during next 4 days. Isolated very heavy rainfall also likely over Arunachal Pradesh on 03rd & 04th and Assam & Meghalaya on Sept. 3.”
The weather office has issued a yellow alert for heavy rainfall in the next two days in Shimla. The alert has been issued for several districts including Kangra and Mandi.
According to Bui Lal, IMD Deputy Director, Himachal Pradesh, “During the past 24 hours, most parts of the state have received heavy rainfall.”

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
