DMK aims for a landslide victory in Madurai district with a united effort to win all 10 assembly constituencies.
The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam will register a landslide victory in all the 10 Assembly constituencies in Madurai district in the ensuing general elections next year, according to Minister and DMK Madurai district secretary P. Moorthy.
Speaking at the party workers’ meeting held in Madurai west assembly constituency on Sunday, he admitted that for over two decades, only the political opponents had emerged victorious from the west assembly.
“It is a Herculean task for us to wrest it. To achieve this goal, we all have to work hard and remain united with the single goal of defeating the opponents...” he said.
With this in mind, let us all work together as a team, he said and appealed to the grassroot cadres and the ward councillors to come out with plans on February 28 at a meeting to be held in a private kalyana mandapam.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister Palanivel Thiaga Rajan said that every functionary in the party had a talent and that the leader had assigned the tasks.
The objective should be to win and it was important as only a victory would give the opportunity to continue with the ‘Dravida model’ rule.
He said that the ‘Dravida model’ has not only been hailed by many leaders at national level, but also followed by many States in the country. Thus, he underlined the importance of winning the maximum number of seats which would lead the party to rule once more in 2026 post-elections.
