"The BJP respects all religions," the party wrote in a press release dated June 5.
In a press release dated June 5, the Bharatiya Janata Party said it respects all religions and "strongly denounces insult of any religious personalities of any religion".
Further, the party said it is "strongly against any ideology which demeans or insults any sect or religion". "The BJP does not promote such people or philosophy," the press release signed by BJP national general secretary Arun Singh said.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
