The water level in Mullaperiyar dam stood at 121.60 feet (the maximum permissible level is 142 ft.) with an inflow of 7,735 cusecs and a discharge of 100 cusecs.
The level in Vaigai dam was 53.22 ft. (the maximum level is 71 ft.) with an inflow of 507 cusecs and a discharge of 72 cusecs. Combined storage in Periyar credit was 3,260.42 mcft.
Rainfall recorded in the 24 hours ending at 6 a.m. on Wednesday was (in mm): Mullaperiyar dam 73, Thekkadi 32.2, Gudalur 9.6, Shanmuganadhi dam 5.8, Uthamapalayam 4.6, Kodaikanal 3, Sothupparai dam 1 and Veerapandi 0.4.
