
Visakhapatnam man arrested for raping his minor daughter for spending too much time on phone

A Vishakapatnam man was arrested by the police for allegedly raping his minor daughter because he was angry over her spending too much time on her mobile phone.
A 42-year-old man in Visakhapatnam was arrested for repeatedly raping his 15-year-old daughter. He was sent to judicial remand on Sunday, January 23.
Police said that the father, angry because the girl spent too much on her phone, raped her. He allegedly raped her multiple times, but the victim remained silent.
Unable to cope with the trauma, the girl recently told her teacher about the sexual assault. The teacher called her father to school and the accused apologised. However, the teacher and the girl filed a police complaint on Saturday evening.
Police arrested the accused and sent the girl for tests.
During the investigation, police found that the accused had fallen ill two years ago after his kidneys failed. His wife donated a kidney to him.
Five months ago, the wife had fallen sick and was undergoing treatment at her mother’s house. The daughter had been taking care of the father.
However, the accused was angry that she was spending too much time on her mobile phone. In a fit of anger, he allegedly raped her multiple times over the last few months.
