A clash broke out between traditional fishermen and ring net fishermen on Andhra Pradesh's Visakhapatnam coast. At least six people were injured and a boat was allegedly set on fire during the clash.
A group of fishermen allegedly used ring nets in a restricted area off the Visakhapatnam coast. Traditional fishermen from the Peda Jalaripeta region had obstructed the use of ring nets, claiming it leaves them with no catch. On Tuesday, both groups of fishermen engaged in physical attacks, injuring six people in the process.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
