Vijay Sethupathy’s ‘Muthu Alias Kaattaan’ gets release date; teaser unveiled

The series is created by M. Manikandan, who has directed it with B.Ajith Kumar, and also stars Milind Soman, Sudev Nair, Vadivel Murugan, Risha Jacobs, VJ Paaru, Kalaivani Bhaskar, and Muthukumar in pivotal roles

Vijay Sethupathy’s upcoming Tamil series, Muthu Alias Kaattaan will be released on JioHotstar on March 27, the makers announced on February 27, 2026. Created by M. Manikandan, who has directed it with B.Ajith Kumar, the show’s teaser was unveiled to make the announcement.

The teaser opens with a man discovering a severed head. He calls the cops, who begin a manhunt. A quirky voice over of Vijay puts up a challenge to them to find the body. “Even after searching everywhere, do you think you can find Kaattaan?”, he asks. There are dark visuals of him walking around as a menacing music plays in background. The teaser ends with the visual of the severed head, which turns out to be that of Vijay wearing a broad smile.

The series also stars Milind Soman, Sudev Nair, Vadivel Murugan, Risha Jacobs, VJ Paaru, Kalaivani Bhaskar, and Muthukumar in pivotal roles.

Manikandan is known for directing Kadaisi Vivasayi (2021), which won the National Award for Best Feature Film and was headlined by Vijay.

Vijay was recently seen in the silent film,Gandhi Talks He will be also seen in Pocket Novel, reuniting with director Thyagarajan Kumararaja after Super Deluxe (2019).
