
Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar to arrive Puducherry on Sunday

Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar's two-day visit to Puducherry includes lectures, interactions, and planting a sapling in his mother's name.
Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar will reach Puducherry airport around 1 p.m. on Sunday. He is on a two-day visit to the Union Territory. As on Saturday, there is no official engagement fixed for the Vice President on the day of his arrival.
On Monday, the Vice President will participate in a programme on ‘Environmental sustainability in building the Nation,’ organised by Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research on its campus.
After delivering a lecture, Mr. Dhankhar will interact with Jipmer faculty and students. He will also plant a sapling in the name of his mother Kesari Devi on the Jipmer campus, as part of ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ nation-wide campaign of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The Vice President will wrap up his two-day programme to the U.T. after a visit to the Pondicherry University campus on Tuesday noon. At the University, the Vice President will address and interact with the students and the faculty.
Security has been tightened at the airport, programme venues and surrounding areas of Beach Promenade where the Vice President was expected to stay during his visit. The police on Saturday held several rounds of internal meetings to discuss security arrangements for the Vice President.
