Varanasi court's order in Gyanvapi Masjid case will destabilise society: Asaduddin Owaisi
India Today
AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi rebutted Varanasi court's order in Gyanvapi Masjid case during a press conference.
At the outset of the Varanasi court's order allowing Hindu worshippers' suit, seeking permission to offer prayers to Hindu deities at the Gyanvapi Masjid complex, Asaddudin Owaisi rebutted the judgement. Implying that the order was impugned and that the Anjuman Islamia Masjid Committee's plea should not have been rejected, Owaisi said that he was scared of what was happening in the country.
It may be noted that Owaisi is an advocate by qualification and the AIMIM shared 'Barrister' Owaisi's press conference regarding the Gyanvapi Masjid case.

Owaisi admitted that everything he had feared was happening before his eyes and that the order of the Varanasi court would call for disharmony and series of similar litigation.
"Now, after today (Varanasi court's order), a new cycle of litigation will begin," Owaisi said while noting that the development would push society towards the '1980s and 1990s'.
"God forbid if we re-enter the '1980s and 1990s', destabilisation will prevail," the AIMIM (All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen) chief said.
Contradicting district judge Ajay Krishna Vishvesh's order allowing the maintainability of the suit, the AIMIM said that he hoped that the Varanasi court would deal with the case differently.

As Eid-ul-Fitr approaches, thousands of Indian workers in Gulf nations are unable to return home due to flight cancellations, exorbitant fares and job security concerns amid tensions involving the US, Israel and Iran. Families in India are bracing for a subdued festival marked by absence and anxiety.

Two years ago, former Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina warned of an alleged plot by a 'white man' to establish a Christian state. In 2025, the Mizoram CM said Ukraine war veterans were using the state to enter Myanmar. The arrest of 7 foreign nationals by the NIA has prompted experts to suggest that the incidents might be connected.

Pradyut Bordoloi was a dyed-in-the-wool Congressi who vowed to never leave the party. The physical attack on him in 2025, and the Congress embracing "communal elements" pushed the Lok Sabha MP into joining the BJP. Bordoloi's exit from the Congress after three decades is significant for the party and Assam's politics.
