Uttarakhand receptionist murder: Resort of arrested BJP leader's son demolished after CM's order

On the orders of Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Dhami, the resort of the BJP leader's son who was arrested for his alleged involvement in the murder of a 19-year-old girl was demolished.
The demolition of Vanatara resort in Uttarakhand's Rishikesh, which is owned by BJP leader's son Pulkit Arya, arrested for his alleged involvement in the murder of a 19-year-old receptionist, was carried out on the orders of the state government. Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Dhami gave the orders for the demolition of the resort after the murder of the teen fuelled protests.
"The demolition of the resort orders for which were given by Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami is underway," Abhinav Kumar, Special Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister had told ANI.
The three accused -- Pulkit Arya, who owns the resort in Yamkeshwar block here, resort manager Saurabh Bhaskar and assistant manager Ankit Gupta -- were sent to 14-day judicial custody by a court, police said.
Moreover, the CM has also given orders to district magistrates to investigate all the resorts of the state following the alleged killing of the teenager, which sparked protests. The Chief Minister has also ordered to ensure that necessary action is taken against resorts that are operating illegally.

Dhami said that the strictest punishment would be given for such crimes. “It is unfortunate. Police are working, they have done their work to make the arrests. Strictest punishment would be given for such heinous crimes, whoever be the criminal,” he was quoted by ANI as saying.
"After the murder of the girl, I immediately said that the building should be razed to instill fear among criminals,"Yamkeshwar MLA Renu Bisht said.
