Uttar Pradesh weekend lockdown: Uttar Pradesh will go under a complete lockdown from Friday 8 pm to 7 am on Tuesday. Here's a list of what's allowed and what's not allowed during the weekend lockdown.
Uttar Pradesh will witness a complete lockdown from Friday 8 pm to 7 am on Tuesday in a bid to tackle the second wave of the novel coronavirus pandemic. Amid a sharp rise in the number of Covid-19 cases in Uttar Pradesh, the government on Thursday decided to extend the weekend lockdown by 24 hours to cover Mondays too. "The weekend closure will now be applicable from Friday 8 pm till Tuesday 7 am," Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Navneet Sehgal had said on Thursday.
A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.

According to the police, 19-year-old Sachin Dharmendrabhai Chaudhary, who works as a labourer, had borrowed the money before expressing his inability to repay it immediately, police said. He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
