Pratapgarh BJP MLA Dheeraj Ojha tore his kurta and laid down on the ground outside the DM's residence in UP's Raniganj on Tuesday claiming that he had been beaten up by Pratapgarh SP Aakash Tomar.

According to Dheeraj Ojha, he had gone to the DM's residence to complain about discrepancies in the voter list for the upcoming UP Panchayat polls.
A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
