
UP court issues non-bailable warrant against minister Sanjay Nishad

A Gorakhpur court has issued a non-bailable warrant against UP minister Sanjay Nishad.
The Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM ) Court of Gorakhpur has issued a non-bailable warrant against Sanjay Nishad, a minister in the Uttar Pradesh government and the national president of the Nishad Party.
The court has asked police to arrest minister Sanjay Nishad and produce him before it by August 10.
The court issued the order in a case related to an agitation that took place on June 7, 2015. Sanjay Nishad and his supporters were demanding reservations for Nishads in government jobs.
During the agitation, a ruckus broke out and a person died in the incident. The police had registered a report against Sanjay Nishad for this and accused him of instigating the crowd.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
