The BJP's Uttar Pradesh Working Committee is set to meet virtually on July 16 to discuss, among other issues, a roadmap for the 2022 UP Assembly elections.
The Working Committee of BJP's Uttar Pradesh unit is set to meet on July 16. The meeting was initially scheduled for July 7 but postponed due to the expansion of the Union Cabinet, and panchayat and block elections in the state. In Uttar Pradesh, the BJP has compensated for the loss it suffered during the Panchayat polls by securing a lion's share of the seats in the elections for the post of block chief. The BJP, which backed candidates on 735 seats in the block panchayat polls, claimed victory on 648 out of a total of 825 seats.
A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.

India's original Dhurandhar, Ravindra Kaushik, rose from acting at college theatres, to infiltrating the Pakistan Army as a RAW Agent. He provided critical intelligence on Pakistani troop movements and the country's nuclear programme, but died a lonely death after his betrayal and subsequent capture by the ISI.
