
UP: BJP leader booked for 'slapping' police during block panchayat chief polls

An Uttar Pradesh Police officer allegedly complained that he was slapped by BJP workers amid the violence during the elections for block panchayat heads.
An FIR has been lodged against BJP leader Vimal Bhadauria in the case where he had allegedly slapped a police officer in Uttar Pradesh's Ettawah district on Saturday. A video of an Uttar Pradesh Police officer telling his senior over the phone that he had been slapped by BJP workers amid the violence during the elections for block panchayat heads had gone viral on Saturday.
A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
