
Two students drown at Manginapudi beach in AP’s Machilipatnam

Two 22-year-old college students drowned in the Manginapudi beach after being swept away by the high tides. The two had gone to the beach for a bath along with another friend who had swum back to safety in time.
Two college students drowned near the Krishna river in Andhra Pradesh’s Machilipatnam on Monday. The tragedy took place at the Manginapudi beach when three friends had gone for a bath at the beach.
The two deceased have been identified as Kakara Pramila and Kallepally Poojitha, both 22-years-old. They were B. Pharmacy students at Bhimavaram Vishnu College. They had gone to the beach with another friend, Asha Jyothi, when they were carried away by the high tides. Their third friend had swum back to safety in time.
After being notified about the incident, the Marine police launched search and rescue operations and recovered the bodies of the two girls. Both the deceased were natives of West Godavari and had come to Machalipattanam to meet their friend Jyothi.
Bandar Taluka police have registered a case and started an investigation into the matter.
