Red Sanders Anti Smuggling Task Force arrests two smugglers and seizes nine red sander logs in Kadapa forest division.
In a major crackdown on red sanders smuggling, the Red Sanders Anti Smuggling Task Force (RSASTF) cops arrested two smugglers in the Siddavatam range of the Kadapa forest division and seized nine red sander logs on Wednesday.
Acting on instructions from the taskforce head, L. Subbarayudu, the Superintendent of Police, P. Srinivas, formed special teams led by Deputy Superintendent G. Bali Reddy. The teams launched combing operations in the Nityapujakona forest area.
During the operation, the teams spotted a motorcycle at a remote location. As they approached, two men tried to flee but were quickly apprehended by a team led by Reserve Sub Inspector Muralidhar Reddy, along with forest officials Penchal Reddy, Shaik Jaffer, and K. Rajesh.
A search in the area led to the recovery of nine red sanders logs. The accused, along with the seized logs, were moved to the task force headquarters in Tirupati, where Deputy Superintendent Srinivasulu Reddy interrogated them. A case has been registered.
