A team of Narcotics Cell of Delhi Police arrested two inter-state drug peddlers and recovered 31 kg of ganja from their possession on Friday.
A team of narcotics cell of Delhi Police arrested two inter-state drug peddlers and recovered 31 kg ganja from their possession on Friday.
The accused, a mother and son duo, were identified as Mohd Shahid and Guddi.
The team received information regarding the transportation of ganja by drug peddlers, through Pusta Road, Gandhi Nagar.
They intercepted two people with bags in their hands opposite Madina Masjid, Pusta Road, Gandhi Nagar in Delhi. The bags they were carrying were checked and were found to contain cannabis.
During the interrogation, they disclosed that they, along with Asgar Ali, a resident of Pooja Colony, Loni, purchased the cannabis from a person who delivered the consignment at Raj Nand Gaon Railway Station, Chhattisgarh. From there, Ali also accompanied them and they all got down at Nizamuddin Railway Station, Delhi. They purchased ganja for Rs 6,000 per kg.
Teams have been deployed to nab Asgar Ali.
