Two arrested for cheating job aspirants in Delhi

Delhi cops have arrested two people for duping people on the pretext of providing jobs.

A team from Delhi’s Cyber Police Station East District has arrested two people who duped people on the pretext of providing jobs. They charged up to Rs 70,000 as a processing fee.

Police said the matter came to light when a woman, Anjali Kashyap, a resident of Mandawali, narrated her plight.

Kashyap, who was looking for a job, received a call from a person claiming to be the representative of a prominent news channel in July.

He promised her a job in a news channel as a reporter and took Rs 60,000 and stopped taking her calls and blocked her number. A case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code was registered and the investigation was entrusted to SI Talwinder Singh.

During the investigation, call detail records, bank accounts, and transaction details of the accused persons were procured. It was revealed that the accused were located in the Dilshad Garden area of Delhi.

Later, two people, 26-year-old Vishal of Janta Flats in Dilshad Garden and 24-year-old Arbaz Khan of Shaheed Nagar in UP’s Ghaziabad were arrested.
