Trump Seems To Forget A Key Word At The Most Awkward Possible Time

The president spoke to a reporter as he faces new questions about his health.

President Donald Trump appeared to blank on the name “Alzheimer’s disease” during a conversation with a reporter in which he denied having the condition.

The moment occurred during an interview with New York Magazine’s Ben Terris and was detailed in his lengthy new report on questions about the president’s health.

Trump boasted that his father, Fred Trump, who died in 1999 at the age of 93, had no health problems until very late in life. Here’s Trump’s attempt to explain it in a conversation that also included White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt, according to Terris:

“At a certain age, about 86, 87, he started getting, what do they call it?” He pointed to his forehead and looked to his press secretary for the word that escaped him.“Alzheimer’s,” Leavitt said.“Like an Alzheimer’s thing,” Trump said. “Well, I don’t have it.”“Is it something you think about at all?” I asked.“No, I don’t think about it at all. You know why?” he said. “Because whatever it is, my attitude is whatever.”

Trump also explained that he didn’t fall asleep during a recent Cabinet meeting, even though he appeared to doze off.
