Trump Rages Against ‘TRUE ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE!’ In After-Midnight Rant
HuffPost
The president urged action against the security “threat” in an angry Truth Social post.
President Donald Trump escalated his beef with The New York Times early Tuesday, calling it a “TRUE ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE!” and a security threat that must be “stopped” in a wee-hours rant on Truth Social.
“The Failing New York Times, and their lies and purposeful misrepresentations, is a serious threat to the National Security of our Nation,” he began. “Their Radical Left, Unhinged Behavior, writing FAKE Articles and Opinions in a never ending way, must be dealt with and stopped. THEY ARE A TRUE ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE! Thank you for you [sic] attention to this matter. PRESIDENT DJT.”
A Times report that his energy was dwindling last month prompted the president to call one of the article’s reporters “ugly” and the newspaper the “ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE” back then as well.
It’s not entirely clear what set off Trump, who’s in Florida, but the recent possibilities in the newspaper are many.
On Monday, Trump also accused the newspaper of downplaying his plan to lower prescription drug costs.
