Trashy rumination: India dismisses PM Modi's Israel visit mention in Epstein files

India has promptly dismissed any allegations against Prime Minister Narendra Modi following his mention in the US Justice Department's Epstein files.
India on Saturday swiftly rejected any suggestion of impropriety following the appearance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s name in newly released United States Justice Department files linked to the late financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) issued a statement clarifying reports after an email in the so-called “Epstein files” referred to the Prime Minister and his 2017 visit to Israel.
The statement read, “We have seen reports of an email message from the so-called Epstein files that has a reference to the Prime Minister and his visit to Israel. Beyond the fact of the Prime Minister’s official visit to Israel in July 2017, the rest of the allusions in the email are little more than trashy ruminations by a convicted criminal, which deserve to be dismissed with the utmost contempt.”
The files were part of a large-scale disclosure by the US Justice Department. Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche said Friday that this release marked the conclusion of the Trump administration’s planned disclosures under a law requiring all Epstein-related files to be made public.
Blanche said the new batch included over 3 million pages of documents, 2,000 videos, and 180,000 images. He added that the release is meant to ensure transparency in the legal proceedings surrounding Epstein’s criminal activities.
The reference to PM Modi in the files related only to his official visit to Israel in July 2017. Officials emphasised that the mention in an email authored by Epstein or his associates is not evidence of any wrongdoing.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.

India's original Dhurandhar, Ravindra Kaushik, rose from acting at college theatres, to infiltrating the Pakistan Army as a RAW Agent. He provided critical intelligence on Pakistani troop movements and the country's nuclear programme, but died a lonely death after his betrayal and subsequent capture by the ISI.
