Ministry of Tourism approves development at Goddess Renuka Yellamma Devasthanam in Hyderabad under PRASHAD scheme.
The Ministry of Tourism has approved development work to be undertaken at Goddess Renuka Yellamma Devasthanam, Balkampet, Hyderabad under the PRASHAD scheme. “At a cost of ₹4.21 Cr, a 3-storey annadana building with modern amenities to accommodate over 200 people at a time will be developed through this project,” Union Minister of Culture and Tourism Gajendra Singh Shekhawat posted on X.
“This temple is dedicated to Goddess Yellamma, who literally means ‘mother of the universe’. There is also an alternative name called Jagadamba who is considered the same as Goddess Renuka,” as mentioned in the Telangana Tourism website. Large number of people throng the temple on Sundays and Tuesdays and is quite famous for the annual Bonalu Jathara festivity that takes place in Hyderabad.
Telangana BJP president and Union Minister for Coals and Mines, G Kishan Reddy thanked the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Mr. Shekhawat for approving the development project.
