Software giant Microsoft could be ready to make a $10 billion investment in OpenAI, the company behind the ChatGPT tool that is now free for public testing. If it goes through, Semafor reported that the California-based firm’s valuation could reach $29 billion. ChatGPT is a large language model and chatbot that interacts with users in a human-like manner. It can be leveraged to handle queries and tasks across a large number of sectors and fields. Microsoft previously invested $1 billion in the company in 2019. The update comes shortly after the news that Microsoft was planning an AI-powered version of its search engine Bing.
Microsoft Teams was trending in India as users discovered that the video collaboration platform largely aimed at working professionals was introducing filters to “augment their video stream with visual effects,” according to the Microsoft 365 roadmap. The software maker said that the effects were provided via developers on the platform. Dynamic backgrounds and filters on videoconferencing apps like Zoom are often an indispensable tool for remote workers who wish to protect their privacy, or keep their employer safely out of the loop, when working from less-than-ideal office locations.
Facebook-parent Meta and video platform YouTube are working to quickly and decisively pull down content that glorifies or encourages people to join the rioters who attacked Brazilian government buildings over the weekend. Thousands of rioters, largely supporting the former Brazilian president and far-right politician Jair Bolsonaro vandalised the presidential palace, Congress, and the Supreme Court. Social media and tech companies are racing to combat uploads aimed at helping more rioters come together in order to glorify the violence and cause further harm.
“We are judges and therefore, cannot act like Mughals of a bygone era ... the writ courts in the guise of doing justice cannot transcend the barriers of law,” the High Court of Karnataka observed while setting aside an order of a single judge, who in 2016 had extended the lease of a public premises allotted to a physically challenged person to 20 years contrary to 12-year period stipulated in the law.
The High Court of Karnataka on Monday declined to interfere, at present, in the investigation against a Bharatiya Janata Party worker, who is among the accused persons facing charges of circulating obscene clips, related to “morphed” images and videos clips related to Prajwal Revanna, former Hassan MP, in public domain through pen drives and other modes.

The festival drew a vibrant crowd who came together to celebrate eco-consciousness through a variety of engaging activities, creative workshops, panel discussions, interactive exhibits and performances, all centered around this year’s theme: “Save Water, Save Lives.”
